Turtle Cake

The collision of chocolate and pralines just has to be a good thing,

bottom layer
In microwave, heat:

½ cup (one stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

for 1-2 minutes, until the ingredients blend.  Pour into 9x13 inch  buttered  pan.  Add:

¾ cup pecans

Set aside to cool

cake
Combine:

2 cups flour
¾ cup cocoa
2 cups granulated sugar
1½ teaspoons baking soda
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Set aside. Combine:

2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
½ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vinegar

Add to dry.  Stir until blended, then add:

1 cup hot water

Stir until smooth. Pour over bottom layer and bake at 350˚ for 35-40 minutes. Serve with hot fudge sauce.

Ginger is taking the turtle cake to work today.  The office is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Hip Chic magazine. Tonight she will be celebrating with her latest conquest, Tyler Rathbone...dinner reservations in Las Vegas.
